Young people play games…

The Dixie Pre-Majors World Series is going on these days in my hometown. Because I was truly weary of staring at the computer screen for a couple days now going through thousands and thousands and thousands of photos from the whole of Europe and Africa and Haiti and such, I called up a friend of mine that was the official house photographer for the event and went down to actually take a few photos instead of just stare at them all day.

Lemme tell ya, that D700 owns sporting events like nothing I’ve ever shot…

Need that extra reach? DX crop works fine. Yeah, it cuts down the megapixel and if you blow this one up even on Flickr you can tell there’s a bit of quality lost, but these things aren’t gonna be blown up to 30-inches anywhere, I can almost guarantee…

Actually? Are you ready for this? This is a crop of a DX crop. So… sitting at like, 2-3 megapixel? Yep. Besides the fact that this photo isn’t really THAT compelling – more of an illustration for a point – this could print fine on any newsprint or webpage just fine.

But reaching to the outfield fence with 200mm on a full-frame? No problem.

Stay tuned…
