The things of youth…

“The surest way to corrupt a youth is to instruct him to hold in higher esteem those who think alike than those who think differently.”
~Friedrich Nietzsche

I had a myriad of interests growing up. And these shelves in my parent’s house are a testament to that, a cross-section of my youth. Stuffed animals, tractors, Star Wars and even up into my love affair with speed and my first car.

Those were my toys. But we just grow up. The entertainment comes first more from the container the toy came in than the actual toy. Then made of plastic. Then metal. Then the toys shape what we do and who were become.

Then, if you’re really lucky, you get to play with toys on a daily basis and call it a “job.”

Stay tuned…
