Shift the course of things…

Okay, I know I’ve got two photos of screens in the last week or so…

…but this is kind of a big deal.

This is sort of a big deal. Maybe not one of those, “I remember where I was when…” moments, but still a fairly big deal.

For years, I have been talking about a renaissance in the Middle East. An Islamic Renaissance, if you will.

Its just the course of things…

For all conservative estimates, Judaism was around for around 1200-1400 years before the first major major epoch in their history… Christianity.

The Roman Empire was around for around 1400 years before the great schism in the 1000’s that put the final nail in the coffin for the “Holy Roman Empire” and developed the course of the Western World as we know largely know it today.

Christianity was around since the first century, greatly becoming a “viable” religion in the latter half of the first century. When was the Renaissance we’re all taught about in Western Civ class? Late 1300’s to the late 1600’s… 1200-1500 years after its birth.

Alright… if this seems to be a fairly typical life cycle of a few of the major civilizations…

When did Islam really begin? Muhammed received his first visions in the cave near Mecca in 610CE.

Wait a SEC! That’s like… 1400 years.

The factions are spreading more liberal and more conservative, the classically authoritarian and totalitarian Middle East is being chiseled away daily… The “old way” is being done away with, their jihad movements being broken down with each explosion in a crowded place.

…Tunisia. Lebanon. Egypt. Iran isn’t looking too good again. Now Algeria broke out today in protests.

Just sayin’… I would not be surprised. Maybe I’m thinking too much about it, but… just sayin’… Pay attention to the next 20 years.

I love Egypt. I love the Middle East and its culture. And from what the people in those countries are saying, this is not a surprise.

There is nothing new under the sun. Someone wise said that.

Stay tuned…
