Time and time again…

All those “I heart NY” shirts, Halal carts, pervasive taxi’s, sky scrapers, and Times Square. Wall Street. All things New York.

But after you’ve been here a few times, you stop going to touristy things. I think I’ve been to everything that New York City offers – Ellis Island, Statue of Liberty, Statue of Liberty, Central Park, Broadway Plays… all the things you either do as a tourist or on a first date in the city.

This time, I had some time to burn waiting on Philip whom I am co-authoring and co-photographing for his book… so I wandered. And camped out in a few places.

Wall Street has always fascinated me. Its light is amazing.

I’ve always been fascinated by the light that bounces back and forth between the buildings. A bunch of glass buildings parallel with each other tend to do that at such times of day.

But I went from Wall Street a few blocks north into Greenwich Village to meet with everyone.

“Why do you like New York?” I get asked. “It’s just too big. Its overwhelming!”

Eh, any city that has “diversity” as one of its typically-listed qualities is great in my book. If you don’t like the neighborhood you’re in, walk down 8 blocks and I assure you it’ll be different. Walk from W.72nd up to 86th. Walk from Sullivan to Baxter. Walk from E.34th to 42nd.

And that’s just Manhattan.

Stay tuned, my friends… Tomorrow.
