Go with the gone in Morocco…

When you wake up in the morning, you just don’t expect that before you sleep…

…you will drink a gallon of tea in a town shockingly reminiscent of somewhere in Switzerland…

…get motion sick on windy roads in the Atlas Mountains except you don’t want to miss a moment of the ruins flying past your window…

…ride a horse…

.

…get accosted by Monkeys…

.

.

.

…see truly nomadic shepherds tending to their flocks…

…all while driving until the sun sets…

…then see someone jump over a horse while riding it…

…and smell gunpowder fired from black-powder rifles from the back of charging horses…

…finally capping the night off past midnight after good food and entertainment…

…whoever said nothing good happens past midnight has obviously never been to Morocco.

Now, the drive WAS long. Fes to Marrakech is a significant 9-hour jaunt.

Many stops. Many people passed. Many little towns.

.

.

.

I hope you guys don’t get tired of seeing black and white.

There’s just so much character!

Still… Morocco has color, promise.

.

.

We arrive tonight in Marrakesh. Just a few more hours in Morocco until we must be gone. Again.

See? I told you it would be quick!

You must, stay tuned…

PS: If you are wondering about this photograph:

It is simple, actually. It is a black and white conversion from an accidentally overexposed photograph taken with the rest of the monkeys. Nothing has been erased from it or over-processed. Simple, black and white. You can do it with a human face, too! It just might not be quite… a monkey.

I just like it… hope you do. 🙂
