Warm receptions…

Oh, for my companions, this title would be a horrible pun…

This morning we spent some time at a Yemeni woman’s house for coffee. Well, with the 114ºF heat and the extreme load on the power grid, there were a few brown-outs today… cutting off the air-conditioning.

Can we say, “the surface of the sun”…?

Nevertheless, she was extraordinary welcoming and gracious…

The coffee was good and the company was great.

Some days, as you’ve probably found, are more photogenic than others. This day, by default, because it was half-spent at the US Embassy. No, nobody lost their passports… we were guests, had a meeting and such, but…

…no photos of such things. We couldn’t even take in our cell phones.

This night, however, was spent at the airport. The red-eye to Turkey.

Stay tuned,
