Less than great…

When voting in elections, what do you vote for?

I say “what” instead of “who” because – at the local/state level at least – often you’re voting for the lesser of two evils and, honestly, it doesn’t matter who the person actually is. It SHOULD be that you vote on the issues. In a perfect world, that would be ideal. But you and I both know that’s NEVER the case.

For instance, in Alabama right now, there is one candidate running a smear campaign and the other running ads claiming to be “better than that” and only running positive ads… but his PARTY is running the smear campaigns on his behalf.

Oh, that’s much better!

Anyways, I’m usually pretty good and avid about my participation in elections, but all of these local people just kinda rub me the wrong way: one guy being a jerk and the other saying he’s not but having his cronies be a jerk on his behalf?

At least in the presidential elections I know who NOT to vote for… the local ones just make it all that much harder.

Stay with me, my friends…
