Get back up again…

Then there are those assignments that you just don’t know what to expect.

The Rolling Razorbacks basketball team in a traveling exhibition is not the usual assignment…

It was bizarre. Now, imagine a situation in which the University basketball teams must be handicapped 1:3 to be able to keep up with these guys. That’s right, the professional wheelchair basketball players would score a basket for 2pts… the University teams would get 6pts for each score.

It was a full contact sport. Some of the guys in wheelchairs were literally knocked over, but they got up as fast as any regular person could get back on their feet.

The University teams were not the only ones to try their hand, by the way. Many of the high school teams from around the city came to try their hand… all failing miserably.

Major props to these guys. While being so bizarre that they were beating scholarship athletes in their prime, it was quite inspirational to realize what was going on.

Nothing is out of reach.

Stay tuned,

PS: From a technical aspect, I placed two SB-900’s on tall poles shooting into the ceiling at the far corner of the gym. I actually only had to control the lights from the D700’s pop-up flash. It gave just a little kiss of light to halo or skim off from behind, giving a little more depth and definition to anyone on the floor.
