New things every day. I do love my job. It all seems just a little funny sometimes. I’m just a guy with a camera. And people talk to me and take me on tours with a simple sentence, “Hi, my name is Noah Darnell. I’m from the Daily News Journal.”
And most of life as photojournalist is about access. This time, a new Medical Center still under construction.
They showed us the site. I was there accompanying another reporter and photographer with the DNJ. After all, I am just an intern.
I was sent with the words, “Go… if you’d like. Take pictures… if you want. They won’t be used.”
I always go. Because sometimes it makes for a good blog post.
From the top to the bottom… the 7th floor to the lobby.
And everywhere in between.
I do love my job. Even if photos aren’t used sometimes, I’m still getting them in there. Still going into the paper a few times a week. Got an A1, a handful of B1’s, too. And some internet exposure, too.
I’ve been doing this work for very slightly over a week. I can easily see why people dedicate their lives to such things…
…I guess I am, too.
