I’ve mentioned “the Table” before. Anathase’s table.
I collected my own. It is a small table, only a few people around it, but it is mine. And it is a start.
For those just joining in, “the Table” is capitalized because it is a particular table in Haiti around which gathers philosophers, politicians, and people who come to listen and share.
I’ve been at the Table when a man cried and I’ve been at the Table when someone stood up, slammed his hands on the Table and pointed an accusatory finger across it at another. And I’ve been at the Table when someone stood up and quoted Yeats as part of a normal conversation.
And so this is coffee #1…
