Today’s edition of “Only in America”…

***Facebook people click here for the real thing…***

So, last time we looked at a beauty contest for cows. In today’s episode of Only In America, we look at the great American Rubber Ducky Derby. Yes, my friends, the normally-docile squeaky toy takes to its aggressive side and makes its way down the stream and over the falls to try to beat 10,000 of its closest friends to win a prize for its sponsor.

Wait… 10,000 you say?

10,000 rubber duckies?

In fact… it was.

Only 3/4 were sponsored, but since they had them, they dumped all of them in the water. What’s 3000 more to clean up when you already have 7000 in the water?

Some of them get free. They escape.

Well, between slipping all over the rocks and trying not to take a swim with my camera, I actually got some usable things…

…I liked this one better than the one that ran A1, though:

So, that’s that. Ducks. Lots of ducks.

I’m going to be working backwards through some of these photos nowadays. Starting from the most recent and going back. Until… just maybe… the grand finale will end up with a massive block of film scans. They’re back. And they’re beautiful.

And there is a LOT of it. It takes time to scan 17 rolls of film on a flatbed!

Stay tuned for that,

-Noah D.
