It is a University at homecoming. Really, why else would there be a bonfire?
Corey has been pretty good to me over the years. Probably haven’t done him justice to mention him so seldom. For all of the past few years he has been directly involved in organizing a good portion of the “cool” things you’ve seen go by on this blog.
Every concert, every campus event that is involving students, Midnight Madness, loads of homecoming things… it is not too much of a stretch to say: this man is the reason. He has been in charge of the University’s Campus Activities Board (CAB) since he graduated, taken the university from only getting small-time, B-list acts (at best!) to what it is now: we have had such names as Owl City, Alison Krauss, the Avett Brothers, Jason Mraz just to name a few recently.
Sorry to sound a little elegiac, but he’s about to move on from here. I can only say I hope to keep working with/for him in the future.
