Winning, queens, and not the end…

Anyone who actually knows me, I don’t put too much thought into athletic competitions. I’ve never yelled at the television because a team was losing or winning if I even watch it at all.

And it is not because I don’t know anything about it. Shooting my fair share of football, volleyball, soccer, baseball, rugby, basketball and others, I’ve really picked up on the game. And I can appreciate the skill and talent it takes to play AND coach all these different sports.

However, I can completely get my head around the grieving process post-loss.

This I say with no conceit, to each his own.

To each his own passions and grief in the failures. Because whenever there is someone celebrating a win, there is a loss somewhere nearby.

And, though you might be at the top of the pile today, your day will come when even your best efforts are run over.

This should not discourage, only remind: remember your failures as well as your successes. It is possible that while your success is where people see you now, your failures made you who you are.

But do not misunderstand, your failures do not define you, they just are the harder surface to sharpen yourself against.

So, all that in just one game. It was a loss. A hard loss.

Many a travel ahead, stay tuned…
