A little tower, a little field…

Winding around the rolling hills of Tuscany to the hill-top town of San Gimignano.

It is quite a striking thing to see in the distance, coming around the bend. Spikes atop a distant hill. And then to realize: of the dozen or so towers still standing, there was once over 40.

Why towers? Because that’s just what they did. They’re old-old-old-school skyscrapers. When you run out of room building outward, build upward!

But, really, just a fascinating town to walk around.

Robbie again…

…when you’ve been to these cities as many times and as long as he has, you make friends. Even the musicians randomly playing in the park.

For the evening, we visited the Carabinieri for the Florence/Scandicci area.

“Why?” you ask!? Well, I’m not just here to sightsee. That’s just what you’re seeing to make the blog fun to read!

But amongst all this play is work. Loads of filming. Not all that many images, really, but a ton of film.

Tomorrow we move on, it seems. The time has ended. And now for the next phase of the journey. It hasn’t been too awfully painful to wake up to this each morning…

…but next on the agenda is one of my homes around the world.

Returning to Greece is like returning to a childhood home. The students rotate through, the directors even change, but something always remains the same. Still has that… feeling.

For that, stay tuned…
